Electrostatic damage is an easily overlooked hazard for optoelectronic, laser and vision inspection equipment during storage and shipment. Sensitive components such as sensors, CCD modules, circuit boards and optical chips can be damaged by invisible electrostatic discharge. It may cause intermittent failures after delivery and bring costly after-sales problems. Many buyers therefore choose anti-static EPP packaging.

There are two mainstream anti-static EPP solutions on the market. One is intrinsically modified anti-static EPP, where anti-static masterbatch is blended into EPP beads before foaming. The other is ordinary EPP with anti-static coating sprayed on the surface after molding. They differ greatly in durability, cleanliness and stability.
Spray-coated EPP only has a thin conductive layer on the surface. After repeated friction and circulation, the coating wears off quickly, ESD resistance fails, and peeling coating generates particles, which is not suitable for cleanrooms. Intrinsically modified anti-static EPP from Fumei integrates anti-static ingredients evenly inside the material. The ESD property lasts through repeated friction and reuse, without extra coating and particle pollution, meeting cleanroom standards.
Structurally, anti-static EPP supports multi-density zoning. Harder sections offer compression support, while softer sections wrap fragile lenses and chips, combining electrostatic protection and shock absorption. Textured finish is also available for scratch resistance, anti-slip surface and better appearance.
As a Dongguan EPP source factory, we control the whole process from raw material inspection to molding and finished testing. Every batch is tested for surface resistance with recorded reports. Our engineers design custom cavities according to product shape, workshop environment and logistics requirements. Sampling, drop and vibration reliability tests are available for domestic and export orders.
Anti-static EPP is not necessary for all products. Ordinary EPP works well for non-sensitive goods. For sensors, circuit boards and optical modules, intrinsically modified anti-static EPP is recommended to avoid hidden ESD risks.
Fumei New Materials specializes in custom EPP packaging for precision instruments. We provide combined solutions including standard EPP, intrinsically modified anti-static EPP, textured EPP and high compression-resistant EPP. Send your drawings for solution evaluation and sample testing.
